Position Summary:
Genpact is seeking a Cash Specialist – Process Developer who possesses strong English communication skills and foundational knowledge of accounting. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cash-related processes, monitoring account activity, identifying and addressing payment discrepancies, and collaborating with clients to ensure timely remittance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remittance Follow-up: Identify missing remittance information and liaise with clients to obtain details, addressing root causes for gaps in remittance.
- 0-30 Cash Responsibility: Monitor cash received in the 0-30 day period, proactively following up with relevant teams to ensure prompt application of cash and prevent overdue items.
- Payment Transfer Approvals: Approve internal transfers for misdirected payments to ensure funds are accurately redirected.
- Misdirected Payments Resolution: Identify reasons for misdirected payments and work closely with the Lead Cash Specialist to resolve underlying issues.
- Issue Tracking: Update an issue tracker to document cases and systemic issues, facilitating root cause analysis.
- Regional Cash Calls: Participate in regional cash discussions to review open billed and unbilled items as needed.
- Short Payment Analysis: Investigate short payments, understanding impacts related to VAT, WHT, and retention, and provide detailed analysis for cash application.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Economics, Accounting, Finance, or similar).
- Proficiency in English.
- Foundational knowledge of Cash Collections and accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Oracle Financials or SAP systems.
- Experience in financial closing and reporting.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and effectively collaborate with teams.
- Eagerness to learn beyond immediate responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
- Day Shift: Sunday to Thursday.
